August 2011 report by Kevin Howett

Desperate to get out despite the summer of rain, I met up with a couple of keen guys from Perth and headed out on a circuit taking in Glen Isla and Glen Prosen. The rain was sheeting down when we arived at the FC carpark near Kirkton so we retired to the pub for second breakfast. The rain turned from horizontal to vertical so we headed out. It turned back to horizontal. The rivers were all in flood, getting out the top of the forestry hell of Glen Finlet was desperate, Prosen Water was in spate and impossible to cross. Everything remained wet all day.

For those who like the details:

Distance – 30 milesĀ

Height ascended – 3,900 feet

Somewhere near Stirling!

Two weekends ago three of us (all of whom will remain anonymous) went exploring in woods near Stirling and found some nice free-ride. Unfortunately there was a slight hicup and two us managed to nearly collide. Result: broken collarbone. Then spent some time in A&E. Hope you get back to biking soon @#@n.
