SMBClogoTransSmWelcome to Strathearn Mountain Biking Club

We're based at Comrie Croft between Crieff and Comrie in Perthshire, where we are developing a mountain biking trail centre with Comrie Croft Bikes. It all started with some hand-cut trails and there is a Blue XC Trail and a Red XC trail, with sections that are technical and possibly a bit harder than other reds in Scotland, and a downhill Black XC secion from the top of the Red which is very techy. But now we have a Bike Park, a superb new downhill Blue free-ride Trail and newly opened this year (2015) an extension to the Red Trail in the upper wood! 16kms of fab trails at the croft - plus all the other great natural trails to be found in the Strathearn valley.

If you've ever wanted to give mountain bike racing a go, or if your a seasoned racer, theres something for everyone at the Hairy Coo.
Using a specially selected route on the trails at the Croft, there are three races for you to choose from:
First up is the Wee Race. This goes off at 11AM and invloves an hour long blast around the lower trails, suitable for older kids, novice and intermediate riders.
Then is the turn of the Bairns Race. Part of the Tayside and Fife Big Tree Campervans series, this is suitable for all kids under 12, and is as many laps as you can do in an hour, over a shorter great fun course. There will be wee change to the bairns race format from previous years, your feedback has been heard and acted upon

Dear All

The Hairy Coo is fast approaching - 9th October- and we are on the lookout for Marshalls for some or all of the day. I would be really grateful if you could let me know whether you can marshall or not on the day. You get a 'cracking free lunch' after all and you get to where a hi-viz jacket at the heart of the action!

Feel free to pass on this message to anybody and everybody who you think may be interested. I will also try to get some of the school mtb club involved again as they were great last year. ... See MoreSee Less
