SMBClogoTransSmWelcome to Strathearn Mountain Biking Club

We're based at Comrie Croft between Crieff and Comrie in Perthshire, where we are developing a mountain biking trail centre with Comrie Croft Bikes. It all started with some hand-cut trails and there is a Blue XC Trail and a Red XC trail, with sections that are technical and possibly a bit harder than other reds in Scotland, and a downhill Black XC secion from the top of the Red which is very techy. But now we have a Bike Park, a superb new downhill Blue free-ride Trail and newly opened this year (2015) an extension to the Red Trail in the upper wood! 16kms of fab trails at the croft - plus all the other great natural trails to be found in the Strathearn valley.

Julys cracking Tuesday nights line up concludes with the SMBC BBQ at the croft. A great turnout and fantastic riding with at least one head over heels crash and the obligatory punctures. Massive thanks to Malize for cheffin and Daniel Kipps for pretending to help.
And what performances at the pumptrack challenge! Less than one second separating the top three of Tom James Simpson, Charlie and Andrew Mcilvride plus great efforts all round, special mention to Harris and Lewis and Fermina Daza fastest in their respective categories. Cheers for coming everyone!. Anyone get any photos?

Between 4.30pm and 4.45pm, Sunday 24 July 2016 the below pictured mountain bike was stolen from the cycle rack it was secured to on a Black Seat car. The car was in the car park at the Tourist Information Centre in Tyndrum.

The cycle is an 'Orange 5' make gents 26" model fitted with 'Mavic' wheels and has been heavily modified and upgraded. The cycle is readily identifiable and is as shown in the photograph.

Local Community officer Craig Murray said 'The cycle was taken in broad daylight when it was securely locked on a rack. If anyone passing or visiting Tyndrum saw anyone at the Seat car or the cycle, I would ask that they phone 101 and ask for the information to be passed on to me. Information can also be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or give info via

The cycle is distinctive and I would also ask that the photograph and description be shared among the cycling community and with Cycle shops and dealers."
